Employment & Education

As well as the plethora of new talent we bring to our Truck stages, we feel it’s equally important to nurture talent behind the scenes and give young people a ‘foot in the door’ opportunity into the live music and events industry.

Graduate Placements and Internships

Truck has worked alongside partners such as BIMM Institute and Oxford Brookes University to offer 60 undergraduate paid placement opportunities since 2014. The festival gives placement students the opportunity to build upon their skills and practical experience in the events industry.

Roles are available across many departments of the festival and include:

  • Event Management
  • Marketing
  • Customer Service
  • Operations
  • Runners
  • Volunteer managers
  • Decor Assistants
  • Artist Liaison

Graduates work closely with experienced members of the Truck team, taking on a variety of tasks in a fast paced and busy environment, as a festival we pride ourselves on giving hands on opportunities to undergraduates, allowing them to take full ownership and accountability for their work.  We believe in being thrown in at the deep end!

Neil Ward, Head of Careers and Industry at BIMM Birmingham says ”We are very excited to be involved with Truck Festival as they provide one of our most engaging and worthwhile work placement schemes.

The well-structured industry experience has been coupled with excellent communication of roles & responsibilities. The clarity of expectation and carefully considered roles has made for an unparalleled student experience with hugely positive feedback, and we are thrilled to be working alongside such a forward thinking festival.”

Volunteering Scheme

Each year Truck works with local Volunteers offering students, graduates and the local community the chance to gain experience and insight in working on a festival site.

Volunteers work alongside organisers and ticket companies whilst problem solving in high energy environments. Roles range from wristbanding to customer arrival support and in exchange for completed shifts the volunteers will gain entry to the festival.

More information on how to apply for volunteering at Truck 2024 will be available in the coming months. Keep an eye on the Join the Team page and our social media for updates.

College & University Talks

Truck is dedicated to helping event managers of the future. Over the years we receive numerous emails from students across the country with queries and interview requests to help with their degree research and/or dissertations. We are always happy to help where we can and give students the best understanding of what it’s like to be part of this truly unique industry.
