Alasdair Beckett-King

With his offbeat intelligent style, Alasdair Beckett-King’s the authentic middle class pacifist who’s biblical appearance and knowledge of 19th century magicians has made him an unforgettable act on the circuit. After a heavenly win on the New Act of the Year Show (formerly Hackney Empire) in 2014 and Time Out identifying him as One to Watch, Alasdair has gone on to perform his quirky and inventive stand-up across the UK, in the Glastonbury Cabaret Tent, Citadel Fest, the Udderbelly Southbank and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Crowned Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2017, Alasdair has featured on BBC radio as a comedian and sketch writer, frequently performing on the annual BBC Radio New Comedian Award show. Part of The Pleasance Reserve in 2016 he returned to the Fringe in 2017 to debut his inter-dimensional work-in-progress show. Thus The Alasdair Beckett-King Mysteries were born, with The Telegraph hailing one of his jokes from the show in their funniest one liners from the 2017 fringe and Chortle as one of the best debut shows around this year. No doubt this vegan viking of stand-up will continue to turn heads in the live sphere for his elegantly crafted and enchanting comedy!
