Harvey Jay Dodgson

22-year-old Portsmouth born alt/indie singer-songwriter dipping his feet into hip-hop and soul influences has been writing his own music since he was 10. Inspired by the likes of Jamie T and Kasabian, to Kate Bush and Billie Holliday, Dodgson’s songs encompass attitude and melody voiced by meticulously written, gritty lyrics.

After starting out performing solo from the age of 16, the past three years Dodgson has been perfecting his live shows with a full band. Formerly headhunted by live agent Alex Hardee from Wasserman (Liam Gallagher, Lewis Capaldi), they performed multiple times at Isle of Wight, 110 Above and Victorious festivals, as well as gracing stages at The Great Escape and Live at Leeds. Other shows included support slots for the likes of The Lottery Winners, Corella and The Himalayas.

2023 saw Dodgson make his debut at Glastonbury festival, release his second EP (produced by Michael Smith at RYP Recordings, and one track by Damon Minchella and Tom Manning) which gained him his first and multiple Radio 1 plays, and support both Calum Bowie and Tom A. Smith on 11 of their UK tour dates. He also had no trouble selling out his own debut hometown headline show in April.

Harvey has just released his latest single ‘Freedom’ recorded with Kerim Oke in Munich, Germany, and played his second hometown headline show this time at the iconic Wedgewood Rooms selling over 360 tickets. The rest of 2024 will see him play at Victorious, Truck, Y Not, Kendal Calling and Tramlines festivals.
