With a 5* triumphant return to the festival stage in 2021, Norwegian pop star Sigrid delivered an “arena ready pop masterclass,” (NME) having announced her biggest ever headline tour for Spring 2022. The 24-year-old will play to over 12,000 fans at SSE Arena, Wembley on 16 March, and return for her second show at Dublin’s 3Arena on 18 March.
New single ‘Burning Bridges’ roared through Reading festival, and today Sigrid releases the official video to the defiant pop anthem, directed by Sophia Ray. Written about the point in a relationship where you know you have to end it, Sigrid gives an incredible performance in an abandoned train station as she crashes through walls to escape her tumultuous relationship.
“The track explores the cathartic bitter-sweet nature of cutting out a destructive relationship from your life, and the video concept mirrors this theme in a metaphorical way, working like a surreal ‘race’ between Sigrid and a mysterious character,” says Sophia. ‘Burning Bridges’ follows the Norwegian pop sensation’s first single of 2021, the monumental ‘Mirror’, which was described as the “empowerment anthem of the summer” (ELLE), climbed to the BBC Radio 1 A List and Capital A List within a matter of weeks, was remixed by electronic star Kelly Lee Owens, and performed live at the Serpentine Pavilion for a stunning One Show special.
