British artist, Tilly Valentine, has been described as “one of the revolutions of music this year” after a run of successful self-releases. The independent artist has gained over 3 million streams alongside broadcasts across BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, BBC 6 Music, The Hot List, The BBC Introducing Mixtape, Jazz FM and more.
Flirting with the idea of pop, soulful r&b and hints of jazz, Valentine’s style has been best described as “the type of quirky you can pair with a coffee or party”. With previous spots on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Low-Key playlists, Valentine and South London producer, edbl, have collaborated on listeners favourites ‘Table for Two’ and ‘Symmetry’, over two millions streams.
Born and raised in a small Oxfordshire town, Valentine moved to London aged 16 to attend The BRIT School, where her journey began. Following her debut BBC Radio 1 broadcast with Huw Stephens, Valentine was listed as part of BBC Introducing’s Best of 2020. Followed by her Speedy Cover live on BBC Radio 1, Nick Grimshaw described Valentine’s vocals as “soothing” and a “beautiful performance”.
