Truck Festival will not be able to take place this year  /

Guest-List: Only The Poets

“Excited is a bit of an understatement.”

On the countdown to Truck, we chat to our lovely line-up and ask them to curate a wonderful playlist of current favourites and their Truck 2021 picks! We call it.. Guest-ListGet it?

This week we spoke to our good friend Tommy from the wonderful Only The Poets about their stunning new single, Truck excitement and secret campsite shows.

“Excited is a bit of an understatement. We cannot wait to play at one of our favourite festivals!” says frontman Tommy Longhurst. “We’ve all been without live music for so long which is gonna make it so much more special for everyone.”

In 2019 they treated us to an intimate surprise campsite show! But can we expect the same again?

“Of course! 2019 was insane and the turn out was incredible. It’s amazing to be able to play the songs so simplistically, and in a really intimate setting. It’s such a different vibe for us and for the people that watch as well – can’t wait to have some beers and get a good crowd together again for some laid back versions of our tunes!”

During our Truck Celebrations last year we were lucky enough to host OTP as they debuted their brand new single ‘No More Lonely’ – which is finally getting released THIS WEEK (!!!) but it’s hinted it might be a tad different..

“We’ve worked so hard on this one. I wrote it during the first week of the first lockdown – just my initial reaction to what was going on” explains Longhurst “it started as such a simple tune with just a vocal and guitar but has grown into an anthem that’s full of raw emotion. We are so proud of it and can’t wait for it’s release next week! I think everyone will be able to relate to it as well.”

Tommy has curated an hour of absolute bangers to get you in the mood for Truck 2021!

“We grew up loving Bombay Bicycle Club – I’m sure everyone is going to go see them but for those that haven’t – please go and check out an incredible band. Also be sure to check out DMA’S, Kawala, Andrew Cushin, and Lauran Hibberd.”

‘No More Lonely’ is out June 8th here and check out Tommy’s playlist below!
